Trevor J James Reviews

Trevor J James Headjoints

"Never before have I come across a mass produced flute with such a responsive and artistically satisfying headjoint.

It has power - and lots of it.
It has warmth all the way to the top.
It has a wonderfully easy response in staccato.
It has a wide range of dynamics.
It has a beautiful and free sound.
It has perfectly smooth octaves.
It has an extremely good response throughout all registers.
It has fantastic flexibility, allowing the widest range of colours.
It has everything a flute player needs to be special.

I consider the design of this headjoint as a true milestone in providing talented students with a tool that allows them to become proficient in playing with the nuances that make the difference between a mere instrumentalist and a true artist. If a flute does not encourage the students to use the full spectrum of colours and to produce all possible nuances, how are they supposed to become refined artists?"

Trevor J James flutes come with a five year guarantee and an excellent record of workmanship. Contact Magic Flutes International or an accredited agent to try a Trevor J James flute for yourself today.

Trevor J James alto flutes
"Trevor J James' new Alto Flute is remarkable. I have just recently played it in several performances. I was stunned that it allowed me to do things I thought were simply impossible on Alto Flute . It is the first Alto Flute I have come across that is actually in tune all the way up past top c.

Most Altos have such severe intonation problems in the third octave that they become virtually unusable past top g with a usually very "hairy" sound. Unlike other brands - and some of them very famous indeed - your instrument does not have these problems but it has a beautifully warm and "juicy" sound all the way down to low c with plenty of guts, so much so that I wish a B-foot were available! The staccato response is superb in all registers and mechanically it feels very good. With your expertise in curved head joints, I expect - like on the standard flute - you will at last come up with a curved Alto Flute that is actually in tune, wouldn't that be wonderful?

In my opinion it is the best Alto Flute on the market now and at a fraction of the cost of most others, it certainly represents the best value for money!

At last there is an affordable Alto that will allow many more flute players and institutions to own this wonderful instrument and to reap in the benefits not just through more viable flute ensembles but because playing alto flute is an extremely valuable tool to improve the low register on the normal flute. Because playing Alto Flute is also very beneficial for people who tend to be too tense in their embouchure I highly recommend to any serious flute player to work on Alto Flute long before thinking about Piccolos! Why not go and get one now?

Thank you, and Bravo!"
